Genie® 10.3.1 is now available for download! This version of Genie includes a new SMS Automation Manager, support for multiple content types in HL7 letters, a 'Credit Server unavailable' message when the Magentus SMS server is unreachable, and fixes for five bugs which were introduced in Genie 10.2.7 and later.
The majority of these features were originally available in the Genie 10.2.8 early adopter release - Genie 10.3.1 contains two additional fixes for bugs in the new SMS Automation Manager that were discovered in Genie 10.2.8 and 10.2.9.

Release highlights
SMS Automation Manager
A new SMS Automation Manager is available in Appts > SMS Reminders > Setup that allows SMS Templates to be set by Appointment Type. This means you can have multiple SMS Templates for each provider at your practice and send a different message depending on the Appointment Type of consultations and procedures. For more information on the new SMS Automation Manager, please refer to the SMS Automation Manager article.

Support for multiple content types in incoming HL7 letters
HL7 files can contain multiple different content types, such as HTML, PDF, ZIP and plain text. Previously, incoming HL7 letters would only display the content type that's dictated in the first OBX segment of the HL7 file. This means that important content may be missed if it wasn't included in the first content type. As of Genie 10.2.8, a new dropdown menu is available to choose from any available content types that are present in the HL7 file.

Bug Fixes and Improvements
- 10.2.8: Credits Remaining in Appts > SMS Reminders will now show a ‘Credit Server unavailable' message when Magentus server is unavailable instead of displaying '0 Credits Remaining’.
- 10.2.8: Fixed bug where opening a 4DWrite Pro window clears the operating system's clipboard.
- 10.2.8: Fixed bug where Current Problems + Notes and Past Hx + Notes Expressions would not update correctly prior to saving or printing a Referral/Reply letter.
- 10.2.8: Fixed bug causing a runtime error when importing Outgoing Letters in Genie Format.
- 10.2.9: Fixed bug where an Ampersand character in SMS Templates would disrupt the message content.
- 10.3.1: Fixed a bug where <clinic> and <clinicPhone> SMS Template Fields were not populating with the relevant data when sending multiple SMS Appointment Reminder messages.
Known Issues
In the interest of providing greater transparency around our product development processes, moving forward we will publish a list of known issues so you know what to expect before updating. Our aim is to list new issues that are unique to a particular Genie version and therefore this will not include historic issues. If you believe you've discovered a bug unique to Genie 10.3.1 that's not listed below, please Submit a Request to our Support team for further investigation.
There is currently one low-impact known issue in this release that you should be aware of. This issue affects all v10 releases, including 10.3.1.
- Updating the Genie Registration via Special > Update Genie Registration or File > Register will cause My Health Record NASH certificates to stop working. My Health Record CSP users are not affected by this issue.
- Workaround: If this occurs, users will need to reimport the NASH certificates as per the MHR Request and install your NASH certificate article. We recommend practices have a backup of their NASH certificate. If you're unsure whether you kept the certificate downloaded from HPOS, you can export the certificate via the Certificate Manager.
- Issue status: Given there are a limited number of Genie users using NASH certificates to access My Health Record and the workaround mentioned above, this is considered a low-impact issue. We will be looking to resolve this issue in a future release of Genie, however there's no ETA at this time.
