Genie knows that patient confidentiality is a core value for your practice. If you have a few patients in particular whose clinical records you'd like to restrict, then locking the clinical record may be helpful for you.
To lock a patient's clinical record from other users, open the patient's Demographics window and select the padlock icon next to Lock clinical record in the Main tab.
You will be prompted with the following message:
Select OK. Now anytime a user other than the person that locked the record tries to open it, they will be prompted for this person's password.
Any user with access to Genie will still be able to see other areas of the patient's record like demographics and appointments.
To reverse the patient's locked clinical record, simply select the Unlock clinical record option in the Main tab of the demographics window. You will be prompted again to enter the password of the user that locked the record.
